The Best Mistake cover reveal

Hi everyone!

It’s time to reveal the cover of my new book, The Best Mistake! Ahhh, it’s so gorgeous, you guys! I hope you love it! <3 Sarah Hansen, the cover designer, is so incredibly talented! I’m very thankful to her for working with me and making it just…perfect. And thank you so much to Xpresso Book Tours for hosting the cover reveal!

I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting…

…so, here it is…

…FINALLY…

…the cover of my next book…

….my first New Adult sports romance…

The Best Mistake :).

Say hello to Archer O’Brien, everyone!

Isn’t he lovely? *sigh*

I so love this cover! Honestly, I can’t stop staring lol. And I’m so excited for you to meet Archer and all of the O’Brien Brothers (and their sister :D). Not to even mention, my main girl Honor, who is such an awesome, hilarious, smart, book-loving heroine!

In case you’d like to read the book summary, you can find it here! ***Again, this is not a young adult book. It is a new adult sports romance set in college and is intended for readers 18+.***

You can also now add The Best Mistake on Goodreads, hooray!!! And I hope you will! 10 awesome people have added the book so far, and that makes me so glad!

And seriously, we could all use a bit of happy.

This is such a scary, uncertain time. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you are not alone. I’m there, too. Mostly, I’m scared for my loved ones. I don’t care about me. But I do not want to unknowingly get this disease, be asymptomatic and make anyone sick. It is one of my worst fears. I pray the spreading and suffering stops, that someone develops an anti-virus and people begin to recover, that things become less bleak and hope, wellness and most of all love makes a comeback.

Again, I think I write happy stories because the world can be so unbearably sad, and I, like so many others, are all too aware of that fact.

Sorry this got so serious. It seems odd to celebrate a cover reveal at a time like this–but I wanted to share it with you. My readers are so wonderful! I have no idea what everyone’s going through, but I truly hope this brings some joy to your day.

I hope you’re well, bookworms! I hope you stay well and find your happy wherever you can <3.

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman

Road Tripping with Entangled Teen!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!!! I’ve got something really fun for your guys today!

I’m so glad to be a part of Entangled Teen’s Road Trip (aka blog hop)! Each day there will be a new stop with new authors and giveaways just for you!

Today’s stop is Chariot, North Carolina–the setting for my YA romance ADORKABLE! Chariot is a small fictional town and home to a whole cast of quirky characters–including Sally Spitz who asks her best friend, Becks, to be her fake boyfriend for a month. The problem: She’s been in love with him all her life–and he’s completely clueless :).

Here’s an excerpt from one of my most favorite scenes in the book (get ready to swoon <3):

Gently, Becks placed his hand on top of mine.

I didn’t jump this time, but my body was like a live wire, lit up from the inside.

“Jeez,” Becks said quietly, running the tips of his fingers up and down my arm.  “You’re shaking, Sal.”

Mortified, I looked down to see that he was right.  Every time his fingers passed a certain place on my skin, gooseflesh appeared first followed by a tiny quiver.

“Sorry,” I said, completely at a loss.

As much as I tried, I couldn’t command myself to not react. Why was my body betraying me like this?  Didn’t it realize that if Becks saw how much I loved his touch, how much it moved me, he would know?

Just as I feared it might already be too late, he said, “This isn’t working.”  Removing his hand, he sat back, shaking his head.  “I don’t know why I freak you out so much, but we need to try something different.”

I was a lot of things, but “freaked out” was definitely not one of them.

“Here,” he said, moving a bit closer.  “You do me.”

ADORKABLE by Cookie O’Gorman

Gah, I really do love that scene and Sally & Becks *sigh*!!!

Something New

Hi everyone! So I’ve got some exciting news to share with you guys! My next book I’ll be publishing is something completely…new.

As in New Adult!

As in a New Adult sports romance about a family that I love and cannot wait to release into the world <3.

Yayyy!!!!!

NA means it’s set in college, and the characters are a bit older (and awesome and hilarious and swoon-worthy!). I’m so excited about it! I’m so excited about sharing it with you guys–but I’m also nervous as all get out lol.

This is my first NA book, and it has more mature content. That means it’s intended for readers 18+. Gah, even writing that I feel like people may get the wrong idea! With all of my stories, I’ve always let the characters be my guide. My stories whether YA or NA are still swoony and sweet imo, but I hope there will be a crossover between the readers who like YA and a little more mature NA romances.

Yes, this book is sweet and kinda steamy, nerdy, heartfelt, hilarious and hot, which is why again, it is intended for readers 18+.

That does not mean it is dirty or raunchy–I don’t think I could write like that if I tried LOL!!! However, there is more than kissing, and I just want to be totally up front about that.

I’ve always loved sports romance and family series and knew that one day I wanted to write my own :).

I blame Julia Quinn and Susan Elizabeth Phillips (and so many other amazing authors) for this!

And though I considered releasing this book under a different pen name, I decided against that because…well, besides having no idea how to write under a second pen name and currently releasing one book a year lol…I’m still me. I still write like me. Under my current bio, it says, I write “to give readers a taste of happily-ever-after,” and under the About Me section (that probably nobody reads), it says, I write books with “humor and heart for the nerd in all of us.” That still holds true for my NA books :).

I hope you’ll want to read it when it comes out and meet the O’Brien Brothers <3. I really do love this family and all the sporty romance goodness! Also, never fear! I’m definitely not done writing YA romance. My current WIP is actually YA, and I wish I wrote faster lol!

So yeah! New adult, new adventure, new characters in a new college/university setting!

It’s going to be so much fun!!! I’ll release the summary soon, and I hope you love it! Have an awesome day, bookworms!

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman

Hello, My Name Is Cookie O’Gorman

If you read the title, and immediately thought of The Princess Bride, awesome! We are part of the same dorky/geek-ish tribe lol.

Bonus points if you heard Mandy Patinkin AKA Inigo Montoya saying the iconic lines ;).

Anyway, hello, everyone! I wanted to share some cool things with you guys.

I went to an author event almost 2 weeks ago, and it was a lot of fun—despite my awkward.

Yes, that’s me LOL! The name tag was given to us courtesy of the bookstore (which I love!) that hosted the event. The freaked out/hilarious expression? Well, that’s all me ha!

This is what happens when you put an introvert in a room full of authors (who mostly already know each other argh) and expect them to just talk to people/have fun/mingle. Le sigh.

My mom, who was my wingman for the night, pointed out this book because she’s 1) a smart aleck and 2) hilarious!

She also told me, in all seriousness, that I did a great job and am actually good at talking to talking to people (gah, I love her and her pretty lies lol!).

Oh and did you notice her sleeve? We accidentally twinned that day—which my mom claimed we were not doing…but which was of course pointed out by the lady at Starbucks, who right when we walked in asked if we’d “matched on purpose.” *mental headslap*

No, Starbucks lady. No we did not match on purpose. We just both really like plaid/gingham LOL!

Pre-event, we went to dinner, and our lovely server brought us complimentary champagne to celebrate my first book being in the bookstore <3. I don’t drink, but it was such a nice, kind and unexpected surprise!

Another awesome surprise was actually seeing ADORKABLE on the shelves!!!! <333 Yay!

We also got to see ADORKABLE on the shelves at Target for the first time ever, and that was just too much amazingness for one day!!!

Recently, I’ve been trying to outline my new book, yay, and emailing my cover designer about what will hopefully be my next release, hooray!

I’ll post more about that soon; there’s a lot to say lol, and I’m so excited (and nervous) to share! 🙂

I’ve also received some awesome messages from readers, and I just have to say: Thank you so much!!!! I absolutely love hearing from you! You have no idea how much your kind words and support means to me! It really lifts my spirits and pushes me to keep writing, so again: Thank you!!!

I hope you’re all well, bookworms, and have an awesome weekend!

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman

Happy Paperback Release Day!!!

Happy Release Day, everyone!!!

Ahh, it’s here, it’s here! The Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad is now available in paperback! You can finally add Sadie & Colton to your shelves, YAYYY!!!!!

Oh, I’m SO excited! 😀

I absolutely love Sadie and Colton *sigh*, and I hope this new format will allow their story to reach even more wonderful readers! If you love YA romance, enemies-to-lovers, lists, bets and dance, I hope you’ll check it out! I hope you laugh, swoon, see yourself in Sadie and fall head-over-heels in love with Colton! <333

Happy late Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope each and every one of your days is filled with love, good people and great books!

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman

P.S. Once more with feeling: The Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad is now available in paperback, woohoo!!!

Happy V-Day!!!

Hi everyone, and Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

I know it’s all about the candy, cards and cute stuffed animals…but I got some awesome bookmail this week and wanted to share! See pic below, and prepare yourself for the pretty *__*.

That’s right, you guys!

The Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad is coming to paperback next Monday (February 17th)!!!

Hooray! And it’s just in time (almost lol) for Valentine’s Day! <3

Love and romance are in the air, and I’m thinking of watching one of my favorite romcoms (speaking of which, check out this cool post I did a while ago for the Entangled blog on my Top 5 Teen Romance Movies <3). Also, maybe it’s because I’m a self-confessed bookworm, but it just seems like the perfect time to pick up a swoon-worthy romance :).

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman

P.S. Sadie & Colton’s story is going to be in paperback, yayyy!!!! I can’t wait! <333

WIP Complete!!!

Okay, so technically, I should’ve posted this over two weeks ago lol.

But I completed my WIP, you guys! 😀 It has about 1,000 more words now because of edits–and I still have a bit more to do on that front–but WOOHOO!!!! It’s done, you guys!

And I love, love, love it so much! <3

There are a few things that I wanted to ask you, so I may do a poll later or something.

But for right now, I just wanted to tell you it’s complete–and I took this pic after lol–and once it’s ready, I cannot wait for you to read!!!

Also, I have some updates on my other book babies :).

The Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad reached 500 ratings on Goodreads!  Woohoo, yay, hooray!!!! I will have to do a giveaway to celebrate soon!

Someone wrote a one-star review of NINJA GIRL and tagged me in it…ugh (about the tagging, not the bad review.  Honestly, one-stars hurt like a dagger to the chest, but everyone has their own opinion.  I still absolutely love Snow and Ash and their story  <3.  Plus, someone else wrote a really awesome review, so it evens out I guess).

The Unbelievable, Inconceivable, Unforeseeable Truth About Ethan Wilder has recently gotten a few wonderful reviews as well!  That was awesome to see!

Oh yes, and ADORKABLE got a very nice review from Kirkus!  My first trade review, you guys!  Want to know my initial reaction?  “I’m so glad they didn’t hate it” LOL!!!!! 🙂 But seriously…I’m so glad they didn’t hate it!

I hope you’re all doing well, accomplishing your goals for 2020 and reading wonderful books!

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman

Hello 2020

Hi everyone, and hello 2020!!!

I hope you’re having a wonderful year so far!

This post is a bit late (how is it already Jan. 14th???). But I’m taking a look back at 2019 to see how I did on reaching my goals! My Hello 2019 post should make it easier–and I hope it’s not too boring lol. 🙂

Okay, so here we go! Bookish/writing goals achieved last year: I published my 4th book baby, The Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad, yay!!!; NINJA GIRL and The Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad came out as audiobooks; I started a newsletter and created an Instagram account (still figuring these out, ha!); I tried a few different promo/marketing things like newsletter promo sites, swaps, and ads (ugggh, the confusion LOL); ADORKABLE came out in paperback with new exclusive bonus content from Entangled (Hooray!!!) and because of this I got to see ADORKABLE on shelves at Barnes & Noble, Target and Books-A-Million!!! 😀

Ahhh, OMG, huzzah!!!!!!!

I also got to do my first ever book signing(s), Instagram takeover and FB group takeovers! They were a bit stressful (just bc I’d never done them, didn’t want to mess up etc.) but also a ton of fun :).

Also got to attend a writers conference with my family, learned a lot, was inspired and enjoyed it immensely!

The one thing I didn’t do was finish the book I was working on :/. BUT! I did that last Saturday, so it’s all good, right? 😀

So, I reached most of my goals in 2019…and even had one dream come true that I never thought would: I got to see ADORKABLE on the shelf in actual stores. *Sigh* I’m so so so thankful to Entangled & all the people there for taking a chance on my little book, and I’m over-the-moon grateful to all of you for supporting me and my books throughout this publishing journey! This would’ve never been possible without YOU! So again: Thank you so much!!!

My publishing/writing goals for 2020 are: Publish a book. Learn how to balance everything (blog, newsletter, FB, Instagram etc.), and don’t be afraid to post. Write another book (or several, crossing my fingers on this!). Write more, better & consistently. Learn more about marketing/promo/ads. Attend another conference or book festival.

As always, I have personal goals as well (be a better person; get healthy; do more to help others). My main goal is to be a positive influence. To know that I’ve made life a little easier, happier, better for someone else.

Back to books!

I’ll let you know more about my brand new book soon, yay!!! I’m very excited to share it with you, and I hope you’ll love it! Will also be posting book updates, giveaways, and news about all the ups and downs of 2020.

Hoping for more ups than downs for you and for me, my lovely readers :). Wishing you all the best in 2020!

Happy reading,

Cookie O’Gorman
